The Board of LandscapeArchitecture announces that the program for the March 2012 Landscape ArchitectLicensure Examination also known as Landscape Architect Board Exam will beheld in city of Manila on March 20, 21 and 22, 2012. This program announcementis officially released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 21, 2012
8:00 AM – 11:00 AM	LANDSCAPE TECHNOLOGY AND MATERIALS Application of the various technological knowledge that goes into the development of land areas such as site grading and surfacing, irrigation and drainage, lighting and other outdoor utilities and fixtures and the various materials, whether natural or man-made, used therein, expressed in graphic design, working drawings and specifications.	15%
12:00 NN – 2:00 PM	ECOLOGY AND NATURE CONSERVATION Understanding of the ecosystem, i.e. the characteristics and symbiotic relationship of the natural element, of animals and plants, of man and nature. The study of the protection, conservation and rehabilitation of the natural scenery and environment.	10%
3:00 PM – 5:00 PM	PLANTING DESIGN AND INTERIOR PLANTSCAPING The functional, ecological, economic and aesthetic applications of plants and plant materials, their documentary representations for design purposes; the design relationship of landscape architecture and building interiors and the applications of plant materials to the design of interiors.	15%
THURSDAY, MARCH 22, 2012
8:00 AM – 11:00 AM	HISTORY AND THEORY OF LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE Developmental history of landscape architecture; geography; and its relevance and importance to civilization and society. Application of the principles of good design composition expressed in vision dynamics in environmental premises.	10%
12:00 NN – 3:00 PM	PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE AND ETHICS Knowledge in Office and project procedures and management; preparation of specification, estimates, contracts and other pertinent documents; and knowledge of the various laws and codes governing the practice of the profession, responsibilities to society, relationship with clients, fellow landscape architects’ architects, allied professionals, contractors, material dealers, aspirants to the profession and other parties involved.	10%

IMPORTANT:

1.     Your school/building assignments will be postedat the PRC premises two to three working days before the examination. Bringyour NOTICE OF ADMISSION when you verify your school/building assignment. Visityour school/building assignment prior to the day of the examination.

2.     Report to your school/building assignment before6:30 a.m. on the first day of examination to verify your room and seatnumber.  Be punctual, late examinees will not be admitted. Examination Feeof ABSENT examinees will be forfeited.

3.     Examinees are required to wear the followingattire every examination day:

Male Examinees – White polo shirts or t-shirts with collar, tucked-in

Female Examinees – White blouses or t-shirts with collar

4.     Bring the following on examination day:

·        Notice of Admission

·       Official Receipt

·       One piecemetered-stamped window mailing envelope

·        Two or more pencils (No. 2)

·       Ball pens with BLACKink only

·       One (1) piece long brownenvelope

·       One (1) piece longtransparent/plastic envelope (for keeping your valuables and other alloweditems)

5.     The following are Prohibited insidethe examination premises/rooms.

·       Books, notes, reviewmaterials and other printed materials containing coded data/information/formula

·       PROGRAMMABLECALCULATORS.

·       Cellularphones, beepers, portable computersor other similar gadgets/devices.

·       Bags of any kind (ladiesbag, shoulder bags, attaché case, backpacks, etc.)

·       Other examination aidesnot stated on this program.

NOTE: PRC will not be answerable for prohibiteditems that will be lost.

6.     Read carefully and follow the instruction onyour Notice of Admission and Examines Guide.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:

1.    Every candidate isrequired to bring to the examination room everyday drawing boards not less than20” by 30” with the corresponding T-Squares, set of drawing instruments,architect’s metric scale; 60 degrees and 45 degrees triangles’ protractors,pencils, technical pens, Elmer’s glue, pair of scissors, stapler, erasers andall other tools required for drawing purposes. Use only official tracing paper supplied by the PRC.

2.    Candidates will not beallowed to leave the examination rooms, borrows anything or communicate withone another on any subject matter. Every candidate is required to bring his/herlunch and/or supper (placed inside transparent/plastic bags) with him/herduring the examination. No food of any kind carried by any persons intended forany candidate during the progress of the examination shall be entertained bywatchers or received by any candidate.
